This past week I was wonderfully gifted with Dragonborn for Skyrim, the third official downloadable content available for the game. I have to say that I actually am enjoying it more than Dawnguard if that is believable!
It starts off with you being confronted by cultists that are out to kill you, once you wipe the floor with them you find a note. The note tells them to kill the false Dragonborn, known as you before you reach Solstheism. You then get a quest to investigate the boat that brought them to Skyrim. This is actually pretty easy to get to compared to how long it took me to find the Dawnguard stuff (personal note, I am TERRIBLE at directions). Fastest way to get to the boat is to fast travel to Windhelm and take a left.
He explains to you that he remembers bringing the cultists over but that’s it, he doesn’t remember much of anything and he won’t go back to Solstheim. With some persuading you convince him to take you back. Then you arrive in Solstheim!
Solstheim is located north-east of Skyrim and north-west of Vvardenfell. Once here you begin to look for someone named Miraak in the hopes of finding out who sent the cultists to kill you. No one seems to know of this person but you get a lot of great information when the ship lands. Be sure to talk to gentleman that greets you on the boat. He has a wealth of information about the land and the city you are in.
Once here you start to explore and discover that odd things are taking place on the island and that the individual you are looking for is rumored dead for years. You then set out on a path to discover who this person is, and why people want you dead.
I’ve just started this DLC and I have to say I’m very intrigued by the story. I didn’t think I would be but after getting started in it I can’t wait to see where this goes and to unlock more information on the Dragonborn. I liked Dawnguard but the story didn’t grip me as much as this one. I enjoy finding out more about the Dragonborn history! Of course a lot of people are excited about this DLC because you can ride dragons. That’s cool and all but I’m more into the story. I just don’t think I like the idea of riding a dragon in this game, I mean sure when I first played it I thought it would be cool but I just don’t know at this point.
So have any of you started this DLC yet? What do you think of it? Please no spoilers! ❤
